As a deserving recipient of the DAISY Award, this nurse’s clinical skill and especially the kind of nurse that our patients, their families and our staff recognize as an outstanding role model. And consistently meets all of the following criteria:

• Consistently displays a caring attitude and understanding to patients/family /Health care providers

• Interacts with patient/family in a warm, kind-hearted, gentle and sensitive manner.

• Displays empathy to patient situation and responds with appropriate emotions.

• Defends and promote patients’ rights and responsibilities.

• Entails listening to and understanding and meeting patient direct care needs.

• Involving patient and family in care and decision making.

• Adheres to moral and ethical values in nursing practice.

• Keeps confidentiality at all times.

• Communicate verbally and non-verbally effectively with patient, family and team members.

• Patient advocate help patients understand their diagnosis and make the best decisions about their health.
